Region VII Student National Medical Association 2013 Regional Conference

Diversity in Medicine: Innovation, Global Health, and Osteopathy

As the climate of the world is constantly changing and evolving, so too must the face of medicine. Now, more than ever, it is important that the advances made in science are not a privilege of the social elite, but instead available to all races and cultures across the world. It is becoming widely apparent that the merging of both the traditional allopathic disciplines with the more "hands-on" nature of the osteopathic principles will be of great benefit to our future patients. Thus, the theme of this year's regional conference is an attempt to get a diverse group of individuals together to formulate ideas on the future of medicine, both local and abroad. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to network with undergraduates, medical students, residents, and physicians with a diverse array of experiences and backgrounds. We hope to attract a wide audience and have a

healthy discussion of what we can all do today to create a better future for medicine through

policy, leadership, and the day-to-day practice of medicine.
